The collection contains letters from the Greens in Paris to their Georgia relatives. They discuss finances, W.W.I and relief work, politics in the post-war period, the fall of France in 1940 and their return after the war, Julien's and Anne's writing, family squabbles, and reminiscences of earlier days. There are also several childhood sketches by Julien. Of interest are letters describing a trip to England with Juliette Gordon Low, Lindbergh's Paris reception and Julien's life at the University of Virginia. The collection also contains notes, reprints, and articles collected by Walter Hartridge on the Greens, his correspondence with Green scholars, especially Haley Fiske Thomas, and a thesis, "An introduction to Julien Green: the man and his work," by Joseph Candler Hutchinson. Also include papers and articles from a Green symposium in Savannah including "The creation of Moira, autobiographical and psychological aspects," by Bernard Sheehan, O.S.B., and "The Savannah heritage of Julien Green" by Hartridge. There are also 36 titles by Julien Green, 3 by Anne Green and 15 critical studies.

Juliette Gordon Low, also known as Daisy, (b. Oct. 31, 1860, Savannah, Ga.-d Jan. 17, 1927, Savannah, Ga.) was the founder of the Girl Scouts of America.
